Kathleen Gregory has been CEO since 2005 when Foundation Housing formed via a merger of three smaller associations. She has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over 30 years and is an active representative on a number of social services peak bodies including as Board member of WACOSS and Shelter WA.
Kathleen has extensive skills and experience managing not for profit organisations and led the merger of three smaller community housing organisations to form Foundation Housing in 2005. During the last ten years under Kathleen’s leadership, Foundation Housing has grown its portfolio of housing from 350 to over 2000 units of accommodation and is now the largest affordable housing provider in the State.
With a strong commitment towards the provision of long term, secure and affordable housing for all members of our community, Kathleen has a sound knowledge base and skills in the development and management of today’s social housing.
Kathleen was presented the Australasian Outstanding Achievement Award for professional excellence in housing by the Australian Housing Institute in 2011, and was also listed on the 2015 Impact 25 list of the most influential people in Australia’s social economy.
In 2016, Kathleen was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday honours, with an Order of Australia for “significant service to the not for profit sector, particularly in the area of community housing, to social welfare organisations and to young people.”
Kathleen previously participated as a founding Board member of national housing body PowerHousing, sat on the Property Council of Australia’s affordable housing roundtable and was a Board member of the Australian Institute of Housing.
